Brief Introduction of Pernod Ricard in China

       Pernod Ricard, headquartered in France, is the largest alcoholic beverage manufacturer in France, created from the merger of two French anise-based spirits companies: Pernod, founded in 1805, and Ricard, created in 1932 by Paul Ricard in 1975. And it is one of the three largest spirits and wine groups in the world (the other two being Diageo and Bacardi). Pernod Ricard has 72 production companies around the world and is one of the world's top wine producers and sellers. This French company has become a multinational company, with 90% of the group's business activities carried out outside France.

       At present, Pernod Ricard has a wholly-owned trading company in China, Pernod Ricard (China) Trading Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shanghai, with a nationwide distribution network and branches in Beijing, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Wuhan and other cities. In China, Pernod Ricard is a leader in the international group of imported wines. The group's main brands in the Chinese market include cognacs like Martell, whiskies like Chivas, the Glenlivet, Royal Salute, Ballantine's, vodkas like Absolut and Wyborowa, gins like Beefeater and Monkey 47, tequilas like Olmeca, pastis, rums like Havana Club and Malibu, Kahlua Coffee Liqueur and other wine brands, totaling 27 brands.

      Pernod Ricard attaches great importance to developing its whisky business in China. In November 2021, the Chuan Malt Whisky Distillery of Pernod Ricardo officially opened in Mount Emei. This marked the official operation of the first malt whisky distillery invested and built by the International Spirits and Wine Group in China, which further consolidated Pernod Ricard's industry-leading position in the Chinese whisky market. These measures, like Pernod Ricard's establishment of a winery in China to enter the Chinese wine market, are in line with the evaluation of the first-level indicator "innovation ability" in the "China Brand Value Evaluation Standard", and would actively improve its ranking on the "(Daguan·Keweiwei) the World Brand Value Top 900" list. On the list of "(Daguan·Keweiwei) the 2nd World Brand Value Top 900" officially released on July 30, 2022, Pernod Ricard's brand value was RMB 108.089 billion, ranking 230th.
